Erik Hurst is a Professor of Economics and Neubauer Family Faculty Fellow at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. Professor Hurst's research focuses on understanding household financial behavior including bankruptcy, savings, home ownership, leisure time, consumption patterns, and entrepreneurship. His work has been published in top economic journals including American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy and the Quarterly Journal of Economics.
