Ten percent of elderly over 65 cut back on medications or food in 2006 because of cost.
Three quarters of the elderly who cut back on food or medications did not receive any public assistance.
Seniors who are in poor health or have a hard time getting around are much more likely to cut back on food or medications, regardless of how well-off they are.
